Leon B. Troughton, Jr.

Leon Benjamin Troughton, Jr., 79, died Saturday, April 28, 2007 at his residence. The Savannah native was a lifelong member and Elder Emeritus of the First Christian Church on Victory Drive. He retired after 50 years of service in the Automobile Industry from the J.C. Lewis Ford organization. He served as a consultant for O.C. Welch Ford and Budget Rent-A-Car Corp. He was a member of American Legion Post 184, Landrum Lodge #48, the Scottish Rite and the Alee Temple for over 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna T. McMillan and son, L. Benjamin Troughton, III.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ouida B. Troughton, of Savannah, son and daughter-in-law, Mark D. and Lynn Troughton, of Savannah, daughter-in-law, Katherine Mitchell, of Tybee, brother and sister-in-law, David L. and Ellen Troughton, of Powder Springs, and five grandchildren, Amanda T. Herring, Scott Troughton, Adam Troughton, Zachary Troughton, and Chad Troughton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 30, 2007 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at First Christian Church. Burial will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Alan Bevill, Randy Blackston, James Herring, Elliott Roughen, David Troughton, Dennis Troughton, Tim Troughton, and Harry L. Wells, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Herring, Walter Mitchell, George Perry, Walter Saunders, and Calvin Usher, and Elders of First Christian Church.
